A.G. & GOVERNOR UNVEIL INTERNET SAFETY COURSE FOR PARENTS
What: An innovative Internet safety program will be provided free of charge to Utah’s parents, teachers and law enforcement officers. The “Wired With Wisdom” program was created by the Entertainment Software Association and Web Wise Kids to help educate parents about keeping their children safe online.
Why: Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, Governor Gary Herbert, Senate President Michael Waddoups and Speaker of the House David Clark are taking part in this effort to keep Utah children safe online. Parents, teachers and law enforcement officers need to be trained about online safety because an estimated 75% of Utah residents have Internet access in their homes.
When: 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009
Where: Capitol Board Room, Utah State Capitol, Salt Lake City, Utah
Visuals: Utah’s top elected officials, parents and educators will demonstrate how the computer-based program works. Entertainment Software Association CEO and President Michael Gallagher and Web Wise Kids President Judi Westberg-Warren will also be available to answer questions about Wired With Wisdom.
