Medical Assessment Program
The Utah Attorney General’s Office currently receives an appropriation of $500,000 to operate a Medical Assessment Program through the Utah Children’s Justice Center Program. This funding is used to hire nurse practitioner’s and nurses to conduct forensic medical exams on children where there are allegations of abuse. The Attorney General’s Office contracts with Primary Children’s Medical Center to supervise and administer this program. Dr. Lori Frasier is the Medical Director of the medical assesment team of Safe and Healthy Families at Primary Children’s Medical Center. She is currently the Program Director of the Utah Medical Assessment Program. There are currently 8 Medical Rooms in the 15 CJCs.
