Child and Family Support
With a staff of 47 individuals spread over six offices throughout Utah, the Child and
Family Support Division serves as legal counsel for the Office of Recovery Services
(ORS) in all 29 counties.
The Division assists in carrying out federally-mandated services which include
1. Establishment of paternity and child support orders
2. Establishment and enforcement of interstate and international orders
3. Modification of support orders
4. Civil enforcement of orders in the State
5. Criminal prosecution for non-payment of child support
6. Recoupment of public benefits that were improperly received
7. Recoupment of Medicaid benefits from estates and liable third parties
8. Handling of appellate matters
