Attorney General Reyes Presents Utah’s Human Rights Record to United Nations

This year, Attorney General Sean D. Reyes was invited to present on the State of Utah’s human rights record during the third Universal Periodic Review of the United States of America by the United Nations’ Human Rights Council on November 9, 2020.

The Universal Periodic Review of the United States is scheduled every four and a half years and provides an opportunity for States to report on human rights conditions within their border as well as an opportunity for the global community to discuss human rights around the world.

As part of the U.S. interagency delegation, Attorney General Reyes presented on the State of Utah and its efforts to combat human trafficking and hate crimes, its response and steps to prevent incidents of excessive police force, and its efforts to protect and preserve human rights.
