
The Utah Attorney General’s Office offers exciting and fulfilling internships for college students or recent college graduates. There are two types of internships: Legislative Internships and Summer/Fall/Spring Internships.
Legislative internships take place during Utah’s Legislative Session (seven weeks in January through March) and are focused on assisting the Attorney General’s Office monitor legislation relevant to our office. Applications are due by mid-November each year. Those wishing to apply for the 2023 Legislative Session should do so by mid-November, 2022.

Summer, Fall, and Spring internships take place May through August (for Summer internships), September through December (for Fall internships), and January through April (for Spring internships) and allow interns to be paired with the divisions of our office which hold the most interest for them. These internships are unpaid. Both full-time and part-time internships are available. We do not at this time offer remote, virtual, or telecommuting internships.

The Victim Services Internship is part-time and unpaid. Schedules are flexible. Victim Services interns work on criminal appellate cases, human trafficking cases, capital cases and other felony cases involving victims of crime. Duties include: informing victims of their statutory victims’ rights; notifying victims of court hearings, accompanying victims to court; following up with victims regarding case status; identifying victims’ needs and providing referrals/resources; and other tasks as needed.
